100 days to go before the start of the Rolex Fastnet Race

The countdown is on ...

This Wednesday 12th April 2023, the countdown marks 100 days to the start of the 50th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race - Destination Cherbourg. A symbolic passage for the sailors, the general public, the partners and the organisers who are impatiently waiting for the start of what promises to be a grandiose celebration. For the 450 crews in the running, these remaining 100 days will be tinged with a very special flavour, between physical and technical preparations, qualification and the search for the last partners to complete their budget for some. A time that is both long and short, which will allow each of them to prepare in the best possible way for their reunion with the most legendary of ocean races.

The port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin is getting ready to welcome the sailors.

On land, preparations are also well advanced. In Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the port is beginning its operations to free up places to welcome the boats for the pre-start and the arrival. These operations are being led by the local actors and the Rolex Fastnet Race Arrival teams. In Normandy, the festivities are being prepared and the entire region is mobilised to provide an incredible welcome for this second edition. A 30,000m² village will be set up to live to the rhythm of the race and the sailors' arrivals from 22 to 29 July 2023.
