First night into the race we have experienced both choppy seas and wind
around 15-20 knots (7-10 m/s) and the current against us. Our navigator
Mange Baltscheffsky has practiced "cat naps" 20 min at a time and the rest
of us are in two watch systems with 3 hours on, 3 hours off. We have had a
squeaky sound around the mast but its probably just the rubber coverage or a
halyard, the mastfoot stands quiet and steady. We are now close to Lizard
point, all well salted in all of our garments but happy onboard!
Best, Nina Backman
